RONO HILLS, Oct 24: Backed by the initiative of the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh who is also the Chief Rector of RGU, the university has established a Placement Cell recently.
The Advisory Committee on Placement headed by Vice-Chancellor as its ex-officio Chairman conducted its first round table meeting today here at the office of the Placement Cell located in the Management Building of the varsity to discuss and review its activities and functioning. Vice-Chancellor Professor Saket Kushwaha presented the aims and objectives of the Cell and appreciated the efforts under the leadership of Professor Tasi Kaye, its in-charge. He remarked that placement of RGU students by leading recruiters within a short span of the Cell’s inception is praiseworthy and the tie-up with Triedge.in is praiseworthy. Professor Kaye highlighted the tripartite MoU entered between RGU, NERIST and NIT-AP. RGU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Amitava Mitra said that it is high time RGU starts banking on its huge alumni base. Registrar in-charge Professor Tomo Riba spoke on the importance of showcasing product values of the university through different medium. Dean, Faculty of Basic Sciences, Professor PK Kalita suggested that more job portals should be engaged to maximize the scope of placements. Joint Registrar (Academic) and Convener of the Placement Advisory Committee, Dr. David Pertin dwelt on the importance of synchronizing efforts to make the Cell more in tune with times.
