Medo, Apr 8: Acting promptly over the shortage of doctors at the Medo PHC that created much furore, Lohit District Health Services has asked Dr S Chowdhury, the MO of Vivekananda Hospital Khoraliang to take charge immediately. 
According to the requirement submitted to the Director of Health Services Naharlagun, three specialist doctors are also supposed to join soon. “Dr Aminam Modi, medicine specialist from Roing in Lower Dibang has already joined and Dr N Jamoh, gynaecologist from General Hospital Pasighat will be joining shortly,” DMO Dr S Chai Pul informed. 
As per  inputs from medical sources, stocks of masks, hand gloves, sanitizers and required medicines are adequate and 145 quarantined persons are being regularly checked by the doctors and the state Health Department in close coordination with the Health & Family Welfare Department is working round the clock. 
District Surveillance Officer Dr S Towang and his team rushed to Medo after public protest to take stock of the 72 quarantined persons at the Forest Guest House. “They are all well except some of the diabetes patients,” informed Dr Towang.    
Meanwhile, DMO has appealed the people of Medo to cooperate with the department at this hour of crisis.
