ITANAGAR, Apr 17: Taking strong exception to the reports on exorbitant price rise of vegetables and other essential commodities, Additional District Magistrate Talo Potom on Friday inspected various vegetable vendors and grocery shops in the capital region to assess the on-ground situation.
“We have received many reports on price inflation of vegetables and essential items and to check the veracity we are visiting the vendors and grocery shops,” ADM informed, assuring that strict action will be taken against those who defy the order issued by the District Administration regarding the rates fixed.
Meanwhile, ADM also seized dozens of vehicles at Ganga and Itanagar who were venturing out without valid reasons during the lockdown. “There are people who are venturing out without any valid reason and some are even showing their old medical prescriptions,” ADM stated, adding that both government and private vehicles using fake passes are also being seized.
