ITANAGAR, Jul 24: Arunachal Civil Society (ACS) has expressed its concern over the dilapidated condition of the NH-415 opposite to SBI, Ganga Branch which is on the verge of collapse due to continuous soil erosion.
ACS Chairman Patey Tayum while visiting the place said that the impending collapse can cause destruction of lives and properties. “I appeal the concerned authority including the local MLA Itanagar Techi Kaso and Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex to take serious note of the situation before any untoward incident occurs. As an immediate precautionary measure a strong protection wall to support this portion of the National Highway is the need of the hour,” ACS Chairman added.
The said portion of the road is one of the busiest segment and being in the heart of the city with huge number of vehicles parked during rush hours, its collapse can bring unspeakable problems to the commuters, Tayum opined.
Meanwhile, he has also appealed the citizens and the business community of the vicinity not to pollute the area by throwing garbage in the stream.
