NYORCH, Mar 20: Aashiyana Cricket Club (ACC) lifted the 2nd Edition of Nyokum Big Bash T-20 Cricket tournament played at the general ground here today.
The tournament was organised by Nyorch and Tarajuli youths.
ACC defeated Blueehill Tinsukia Cricket Club (BTCC) by 25 runs in the final match of the 2nd edition of Nyokum Big Bash T-20 Cricket tournament. After winning the toss BTCC decided to field first but their decision went wrong as ACC set a huge target of 144 in their allotted 20 overs. Kushal and Nalin Chetya scored 35 and 24 runs respectively for the winning team.
For BTCC K Kumar took 4 while Guddu P took 2 wickets each respectively.
Chaising the huge target of 144, BTCC were all out in 119 runs. Sahif Khan and K Kumar scored highest 26 and 22 runs for their team.
Bhaijan Sonowal took 4 while Jayanto Doley took 2 wickets each for ACC.
The winner team was awarded with cash prize of Rs 1.50 lakhs along with medal and the runner-up team cash prize of Rs 70,000 with medal.
Kushal of ACC and Bhaijan Sonowal of ACC were declared man of the series and man of the match and walked away with Laptop and Samsung mobile.
Addressing the players before the game as chief guest, president Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries Tarh Nachung encouraged the young sportspersons to uphold discipline and sportsman spirit in and off the field.
Winning and losing is the part of a game as well as life. What matters more, is your participation and your dedication,” Nachung said while congratulating the participants.
Social worker Tok Tuma attending the programme as guest of honor advised the players to play with true sportsmanship spirit. Organising Chairman Nabam Abo also spoke on the occasion.
Altogether 16 teams from different parts of Arunachal and Assam participated in the tournament.
