BOMDILA, Dec 6: Calling upon the student community to take life seriously and endeavour to excel by setting up specific targets, MLA Japu Deru coaxed the boys to rise and come at par with the girls normally topping the board examinations today at Buddha Park Convention hall.
He along with DC and SP gave away three sets of laptops to the three academic toppers from GHSS Bomdila and Dirang.
Thanking CM Pema Khandu for sponsoring the laptops, Deru opined that this goodwill act from the Chief Minister would go a long way in boosting the morale of the students who have topped besides motivating others to excel.
He also urged the CBOs and the NGOs to come forward and contribute their bit in improving the educational scenario of the district.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Sonal Swaroop appreciating the pioneering effort of All West Kameng Students’ Union (AWKSU) in taking the lead to felicitate the district toppers, said that the students’ life is a golden era which needs to be well defined and regulated with the sole objective of excelling in life.
Among others, Superintendent of Police Raja Banthia, Principal Government College Bomdila (GCB) S Khandu, President and Secretary AWKSU spoke during the felicitation programme.
This was the first ever felicitation programme for the academic toppers organized by AWKSU in the district.
