PASIGHAT, Apr 4: Extending their helping hand and going a step ahead of their usual academic-related activities among the youths of the Adi communities, Academic Board Adi Bane Kebang (ABoABK) in collaboration with East Siang District Administration has initiated a programme to help the students including that of other districts and tribes who are currently stranded here owing to the lockdown.
These stranded students have been accommodated in rented rooms, apartments or as paying guests etc. Secretary Education, ABK Apex Dr David Gao informed that the DA headed by Dr Kinny Singh has distributed ration items to around 30 students on Saturday. On behalf of the Board and East Siang DA, Gao also requested all these students now under acute shortage of basic ration items to inform or register themselves with Dr Temin Payum, Joint Secretary, Academic Board Adi Bane Kebang at the earliest who can be contacted over 07308461524/8837431221. A committee has also been constituted in this regard with Dr Temin Payum as Chairman, Dr Tani Siram as Vice-Chairman, Dr Kayon Ratan, Dr Toni Jamoh and Shri Jhony Ering as members who will work towards helping these needy students.   
Meanwhile, ABoABK has appealed all the students of Pasighat and the region to abide by government’s lockdown advisories to prevent chances of Covid-19 spread in the state in general and Adi inhabited districts or Banggos in particular.
