ITANAGAR, Feb 13: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) while wholeheartedly welcoming the failure to table the CAB in the Rajya Sabha termed it as a "huge victory" for the people of Arunachal in particular and Northeast in general against the unmindful and bulldozing tactics of the present BJP led union government.
Through a press release, the visibly jubilant union expressed its heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all those individuals, organisations including political parties who steadfastly stood against the contentious bill despite all odds.
CAB 2016 would have had adverse impact on the language, culture and identity of the indigenous people of Northeast region including its demography had it been passed by the Rajya Sabha and we would like to urge once again to the government not to go ahead with such anti-people bill in near future, the release said.
