ITANAGAR, Sep 30: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has welcomed the announcement by the Union DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh for laying the foundation for construction of greenfield airport at Hollongi in Papum Pare district by December. The airport has been a cherished dream of every Arunachalee which will boost the economy and connectivity to the rest of the world, the Union said in a release this evening adding that the delay is a big setback for the state.
Lauding the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu for making decisive effort to solve the land dispute, the AAPSU further appealed the land owners for more cooperation to start the construction work and for the early completion of the airport for the greater interest of the state.
The greenfield airport project being built by Airports Authority of India (AAI) over 320 hectares has taken a long time due to the land compensation imbroglio.
Furthermore, it has also appreciated the capital administration’s move to impound stray animals terming it need of the hour.
