ITANAGAR, Sep 21:The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) on Friday reiterated its demands for the constitution of an Empowered Committee to examine into the matter of “offspring of Non-APST father and APST mother enjoying APST and other benefits”, recently raised by them in a press conference.
In a representation to the Chief Minister, it also called for a thorough examination of the quantum of punishments to be fixed for issuing and certifying APST to such illegal individuals.
Introduction of stringent legislation or ordinance in the state assembly in the coming assembly session on the issue, compulsory marriage registration of all the APST women who are married to Non-Locals were among its other demands.
