ITANAGAR, Apr 4: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) while taking cognizance of probable post Letter of Permission (LOP) scenario brought up by various NGOs in respect to the fate of 487 employees in Tomo Riba State Hospital (TRSH) and their apprehensions with the coming up of TRIHMS and the very existence of lone State referral Hospital TRSH likely to be amalgamated with TRIHMS brought up before the Chief Minister as genuine and not without merit called upon the state government to have a serious introspection on the matter.
In the euphoria of getting a new institute of “Health and Medical Science” in the state the AAPSU opined that we must not forget the many sacrifices and hardship the 487 Arunachal Government staff which includes among others 105 Doctors & 382 staff Nurses, technical and non-technical staff have put into nurturing the lone state referral Hospital and the services they have provided to needy public. The AAPSU is also of the opinion that state government ought to search out a middle path whereby the coming up of the new Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical (TRIHMS) is not hampered  and at the same time Tomo Riba State Hospital (TRSH) retains its status whereby the pain and agony of the 487 employees of the lone State Referral Hospital is assuaged and look into.
The Union also strongly condemned the recent incident of threat and intimidation to Changlang Zilla Parishad Chairperson Jowkhong Singpho by one NSCN (IM) cadre Damthing Tangkhul since many months. The massive protest by denizens of Miao, Bordumsa comprising people from all walks of life recently on the issue amply reflects the penned up anger of common public against the atrocities they have been enduring for so long in silence by different outfits from outside the state. The state government and MHA need to protect the life & liberty of the people, a release issued by the union this evening stated.
