ITANAGAR, Sep 9: A review meeting of the ILP issue committee of the AAPSU was held here today under the chairmanship of its president Hawa Bagang. The meeting discussed and reviewed the upcoming extended consultative meeting to be held on September 15with all the community-based organisations including the community-based student unions regarding subjects like; Issue of the offsprings of APST mother and non-APST father enjoying the benefits of APST in the state; 2nd Phase of the Operation Clean Drive and suggestions and opinions regarding improvement of the ILP system in the state, said a press release from the students union.
While deliberating on the subject matter, the AAPSU president on behalf of the Union also took strong exception to the posting of junior level and inexperienced officers as HoDs and DCs etc in various parts of the state including the departments concerned.
Posting of inexperienced officers as DCs and other HoDs from any cadre be it IAS, APCS, etc especially in capital complex has greatly hampered the work culture and execution of important projects in the state as these young officers take significant amount of time to acquaint themselves with the working conditions in a protected state like Arunachal Pradesh.
The state government should take serious note of the concerns raised on a priority basis and immediately recall such officers in the greater interest of the state. Officers, be it from any cadre, with at least 10-12 years of administrative experience should be made as DCs. The State and the common masses have suffered long enough due to incompetence and immaturity of such officers. In the past, there were young officers like Sandeep Kumar despite being young had felt the pulse of the people and had done a tremendous job during his tenure. It is time that some concrete mechanism be put in place. Due to the immature acts of such incompetent officers, a bad name is given to the state government, the AAPSU said.
