ITANAGAR, May 11:A delegation of All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) led By President Hawa Bagang and General Secretary Tobom Dai today called on Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Prakash Javadekar at his office in Shastri Bhawan New Delhi and submitted a memorandum pertaining to the immediate appointment of regular Director in NIT and NERIST, infrastructure development in RGU and setting up of CBSE regional office in Itanagar.

Briefing the Minister, the AAPSU delegation highlighted that absence of Regular Director in both the higher institutes have adversely affected the overall development right from infrastructure development to academic pursuit.

Giving a patient hearing, Javadekar informed the student delegation that the process of appointing regular director have already been initiated and told that there are certain laid down procedures for its appointment which will at least take a month's time and assured that regular director will be posted within the stipulated time.

The minister also told the delegation that the first step has already been initiated with the appointment of New Chairperson who is the official responsible to look into appointment of new Directors. On its other demand for infrastructure development in RGU and setting up of regional CBSE office in Itanagar, he assured all possible help.

The AAPSU team also brought up the issue of renaming Rajiv Gandhi University to Arunachal University, to which the Minister said that renaming issues bring lots of controversies but would do the needful after consulting with state government.
