ITANAGAR, May 30:The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has demanded for cancellation of admission of Mizoram Chakma students in North East Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) citing it is not without reasons as the candidates have duped the Government of Mizoram.

It is amply reflected in the letter address to the Registrar NERIST by Under secretary to the Government of Mizoram vide letter No.A.42011/1/2013-THE(TE) Dated Aizawl, the 22^nd May,2018. The said letter which is attached as ready reference clearly dwells on the eligibility of Chakma students under its State quota.  As per the Mizoram (Selection of Candidates for Higher Technical Courses) rules 2016, all the Candidates are classified into three categories viz- Category-I, category II and Category III.  There has been great anomaly that the Chakma students were allotted many seats under government of Mizoram quota and NEE-1 Examination Board wherein the candidates have applied in category- I, whereas they are qualified in category-II, the AAPSU said in a release today.

The Union further strongly condemned the press statement by Chakma students’ organisation of Tripura and warned that if any untoward incident happened to any Arunachalee student, they would be held responsible.
