ITANAGAR, Jan 6: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) while reminding the state government of its earlier memorandum submitted to office of the Chief Minister has once again reteirated its appeal for preservation and protection of wildlife including flora & fauna in the state.
It stated that for last many years, during festive season, wild animals & birds are openly sold in various markets across the state. There is an urgent need to take necessary action in this regards and also to take initiative towards preserving ecology. Measures should be initiated for preservation of water source in capital complex and major towns across the state, it said in a release today.
Further, the union is also of the strong view that killing of wild animals/birds should be discouraged from festivals and other celebrations. With the assembly session due to start tommorow onwards, the Union appeals the legislators to take due cognizance and initiate strong legislation for protecting wildlife & ecology in the state, said President, AAPSU Hawa Bagang.
