ITANAGAR, May 27: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union today conducted its central executive meeting here in capital to discuss the deteriorating law & order situation in the Tirap, Longding, Changlang(TLC) region of the state.
In a press release issued today, AAPSU has termed the recent killing of Tirong Aboh, the sitting MLA of 56th Khonsa AC a ‘political murder’ and sought for a fast-track investigation by National Investigation Agency (NIA) in a time-bound manner. The union has also demanded that the present state and central governments, both led by BJP should demonstrate strong ‘political will’ to resolve the current turmoil sweeping the TLC region where killings, ransoms and extortions have become the order of the day. Murder incidents of Seliam Wangsa, former ZPM and Jaley Anna and his companion who is battling for life in hospital were also highlighted in the meeting.
A two-minutes silence for the May 21 massacre victims was also observed. Candlelight marches in all the district headquarters will be organised by AAPSU condemning the gruesome killings and a memorandum will also be submitted to the state government in this regard, the release said.
