Aalo, Sep 20: In a display of solidarity and mark of protest against the shocking death of one Poi Doji Lollen in a hit-and-run incident that occured near Treasury Office here on September 12 last, the Paktu Ao Youth Welfare Association (PAYWA) along with the conglomeration of clan-based unions and associations took out a candlelight march from Nehru Chowk to the streets of the township   on Thursday last.
Speaking on the occasion, bereaved family members of the victim who succumbed to serious injuries on September 17 at Dibrugarh, expressed their deep anguish over the incident and appealed the administration, police and public to do their best to locate the culprit to give justice to the deceased. Chief Patron of PAYWA Jorik Bagra and Secetary Gemo Ete while expressing anguish over the incident have appealed all to support the cause. The association demanded immediate arrest of the culprit within three days from the submission of their representation, installation of CCTV(HD) camera in important tri-junctions, random arrest of minor riders and noise polluting bikes. It also hinted on a democratic movement in case of failure to nab the culprit.
The incident has once again highlighted the rising menace of riding two-wheelers at neck-break speed, changing silencer pipe to emit noisy sound to startle pedestrians etc.  DIPRO
