Aalo, Jan 21: The Aalo Cooperative general stores ltd opened its doors to the public with its inauguration by DRCS, West Siang, Kenbi Riba here today. The store was gutted in a fire mishap in February 2018 following which construction works started again.
The Cooperative movement in the state of Arunachal Pradesh (previously known as NEFA) was started during 1957, when a first consumer Coop society was organized at Pasighat. The second consumer cooperative Society namely Along cooperative General Stores Ltd. Along (now Aalo) was organized on 09/09/1957 with a view to provide essential commodities to government employees and local public as a whole. Since then the Along CGS Ltd Aalo is playing vital role for socio economic development of the Society. It has been Dist Nominee of PDS items in earlier years and dealt it successfully.
Today the Society is dealing in PDS retail, Medical stores, Grocery, General Merchandise, and Kitchen items, Godrej Appliances etc.
