Itanagar, Aug 4: The 7th Itanagar Solung Football Tournament-2019 kicked off today here at the APP Battalion ground amid a huge gathering.
Addressing the ceremony as chief guest, Capital Police Chief, Tumme Amo appealed all stakeholders to abide by the traffic laws just as the players follow rules and disciplines at playground. 
Itanagar Solung Festival Celebration Committee (SFCCI) Chairman Taring Darang said that the kick off ceremony will also mark the onset of the ‘Solung Festival’ which is one of the biggest festivals of the Adi community that is celebrated in the 1stweek of September. SFCCI General Secretary Tashor Pali also addressed the gathering attended by senior citizens and community leaders.
A total of 24 teams are participating in the tournament. The inaugural match was played between the defending champions Bango United FC and Pirbo Lipik where BUFC won by a 4-2 margin. Newsdesk
