Itanagar, May 21: As a part of the Centrally Sponsored State Managed (CSSM) component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana(PMKVY), Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Arunachal Pradesh organized a briefing-cum-send-off programme here at Udyog Sadan for 72 youths who have been selected to undergo Skill Development Training in Travel & Tourism sector.
The cost of the training, travelling to and fro, boarding & lodging etc. are borne by government under PMKVY, which is a central flagship program. The selection of candidates was done through skill development sensitization, motivation and trainees selection rally held in every district headquarters of the state, which is also an annual affair. These students will be trained by TUSTI Foundation, Guwahati which is an empanelled training provider under CSSM of PMKVY implemented by the state’s Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

The trade certificate will be provided to the successful candidates by concerned Sector Skill Council (SSC) & National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and at least 70% of the candidates would be provided job/placement.

Director, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Subu Tabin along with Assistant Director J. Riba exhorted the trainees to be dedicated enough to complete the course successfully and engage in a suitable job immediately after the completion of training. State Government has signed a number of MoUs with Training Providers to establish 36 Training Centers within the state and 9 outside the state under PMVKY and Chief Minister Yuva Kaushal Yojana(CMYKY) for Short Term Training & High-end Skill Development Training respectively to provide employable skill training in various sectors so that the state’s youths can find employment opportunities.
2,215 candidates have completed training in 23 job roles covering 12 sectors during last financial year under PMVKY through 13 Training Providers and 27 Training Centers and 483 got  placements and are currently working as cabin crew and airline ground staff, the director shared. He also informed that under Chief Minister’s Yuva Kaushal Yojana, 244 candidates are undergoing High-end Skill Development Training at Guwahati and 38 are undergoing employable degree courses in Team Lease Skills University Vadodara, Gujarat.
