ITANAGAR, Jan 27: Along with the rest of the nation, the 71st Republic Day was celebrated on Sunday last all across Arunachal Pradesh with huge and engrossing participation of people from all sections of society.
Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) unfurled the National Flag and took salute of the marching contingents here at IG Park and extended warm greetings to the people. In his address, he highlighted the developmental initiatives taken by the state government in the preceding year and the future roadmap for the progress of the State and highlighted the developmental vision pursued in quest for excellence in governance, quality education, better health services, progressive changes in agriculture etc.
Governor spoke of connectivity, including the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive State Road Plan 2019-2024, agriculture and allied activities such as Chief Minister’s Sashakt Kisan Yojana, ‘Arun Pig Development Scheme’ and ‘Mukhya Mantri Neel Kranti Abhiyan’, revenue generation, hydropower, tourism, and investment initiative under Arunachal Pradesh State Industrial & Investment Policy 2019. 
In social security, he expressed his happiness that Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) and Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society are actively working to spread awareness on women's rights. He also informed that State Government has constituted “Control, Awareness, Monitoring and Enforcement” (CAME) teams to combat drug menace and destroy illicit opium and cannabis cultivation in the districts. He also highlighted the initiatives in providing Housing for all by 2022 under Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme and PMAY (Gramin), Arunachal Pradesh Teachers’ Transfer & Posting Policy 2020 etc. and called upon the people to support the state government. Governor, while emphasising the role of the government officials said that for continued contact with the people and uninterrupted pursuit of the on-going welfare programmes, efforts are on to have Arunachal State Cadre of IAS, IPS and IFS officers. He also commended the APP, CRPF, ITBP, NCC, Scouts and Guides, cultural troupes and school children for their enthusiastic participation in Republic Day celebrations.
Governor along with the First Lady of the State Neelam Misra also hosted the traditional ‘At Home’ function on the occasion of the 71st Republic Day.
Chief Minister Pema Khnadu and his council of ministers including special invitees were present on the occasion.
ItGovernor also felicitated promising sportspersons namely Taug Ama (Martial Arts) and Giani Ramching, Captain Under-16 girls football. The highlights of the ceremony was the Military Band Display by personnel of Assam Regimental Centre, Shillong and Jazz Band presentation by 3 Assam, Lekhapani and 113 Territory Army, Kolkata. Meghna Digari, daughter of Subedar Kushal Singh Digari from 2 Kumaon regiment from Kolkata presented an Arunachalee and a patriotic song.
Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar unfurled the National Flag at the premises of Arunachal Pradesh Civil Secretariat amidst presence of senior government officers, staff and police personnel and called upon every citizen to rededicate oneself for the development of the country in general and state in particular.
Other highlights of the 71st Republic Day celebration at IG Park were voluntary blood donation camp organised by the Arunachal Voluntary Blood Donors Organization & Capital Administration in collaboration with State Blood Transfusion Council. During the camp, a total of 15 units of blood were collected of which 8 units were from CRPF. Also, a Census Stall was also installed by the Office of the DSO (Statistics) under Capital Administration to sensitize people regarding the ensuing 2021 population census. DSO informed that the Census 2021 will be carried out digitally and will be conducted in two phase- House listing and house census- from 15th April to 31st May 2020 and Population Enumeration from 9th February to 28th February.
East Siang
71st Republic Day was observed in a befitting manner with East Siang Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh unfurling the national tri-colour and inspecting the gala march past of 30 contingents, led by parade commander Inspector Michi Sambyo at the Pasighat Outdoor Stadium.
DC gave away awards to the students for Re-cycling projects, progressive farmers, officers, teachers and staff for rendering excellent services for upliftment of the society and also handed over Fixed Deposit Certificates to many beneficiaries under Dulari Kanya Scheme on the day. Parade contingents of Pasighat IGJ Govt. Hr. School ‘Boys & Girls’ received first prize while Mirku Sec. School was adjudged second. The occasion saw a number of cultural performances with patriotic flavour by Naomi English School, WASE (Women Against Social Evils), Democrat Bakin English, Donyi-Polo Vidya Niketan, IRBn Wives Association, KP Vivekananda Memorial School and St. Mary International School.
Other highlights of the day were inauguration of exhibition stalls put up by various government departments. Participated by five Self-Help Groups from Pasighat and Ruksin, a crowd pulling SHG Mela was organized by the DD (ICDS) which was formally inaugurated by the DC. 
Republic Day was also celebrated with pomp and show in all administrative headquarters and government offices in the district. Reportedly at Mebo, ADC Hage Lailang, at Ruksin, ADC Kabit Apang and at Namsing Circle Office Khoda Lasa (CO) hoisted the national flag and celebrated in a befitting manner. 
West Kameng 
71st Republic
day was celebrated at Bomdila with pomp and show. Addressing the mammoth gathering at Buddha stadium, DC Sonal Swaroop dealt at length on the various developmental activities undertaken and of the changes that took place in the last few years. She also highlighted of the district’s achievements wherein West Kameng district was adjudged the best in Arunachal Pradesh and came second in the country in the ‘Swachhta Darpan-Open Defecation Free Sustainability 2019 contest conducted by the Jal Shakti Ministry.
DC also flagged-off the Cycle expedition team of the Department of PHED as a part of the IEC campaign. Urgen Tsomu, Er. ND Thungon and Gocham Taga, DIPRO were honoured with commendation certificates for excellence in public service during the celebration.
Exhibition stalls by 2-Arunachal Scouts, government departments, NGOs, SHGs, parade, cultural programmes and sport events marked the day.
Kamle
Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi unfurled the national flag at Raga on the occasion of 71st Republic Day. Addressing the gathering DC called for unified effort from all the stakeholders to ensure that the district develops at par with the other advanced districts in the State. 
Informing about the administrative developments in the district he said that the Sub-Divisions of various Work Departments like PHED, Power, and RWD have been upgraded to Divisions and full-fledged offices of Deputy Director of WCD, Deputy Director of Agriculture, and Project Director of DRDA have been approved by the government. While highlighting the infrastructural development in the district he informed that District Secretariat at Raga Phase-I, Tamen-Dullungmukh Road, improvement of District Head Quarter Township Road at Raga have been approved and CHC Raga has been upgraded to a full-fledged District Hospital.
The celebration was marked with parade display by the NCC, Girls Guide and school children. PT Display from VKV Raga, colourful cultural program, various games and sports were organised on the day.
LDV
The day was celebrated all over the Lower Dibang Valley district. The national flag was unfurled by the Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom in the presence of ex-MP Mukut Mithi, SP S. K. Sain, CJM Tailang Laji and other dignitaries.
DC informed about the upcoming mammoth exercises of Decennial Census of 2020-21 and the ensuing elections to the Panchayats and advised that such exercises can see successful realisation only with the collective efforts of all. Colourful cultural programmes were also presented on the day by school children of the area.
A Sarkar Aapke Dwar was also conducted on the day and the free health camp saw 243 patients registering for health check-up and more than 2000 beneficiaries taking advantage of the services provided.
Lower Siang
71st Republic Day was celebrated at Lower Siang and all administrative headquarters of the district with gaiety.
Lower Siang Deputy Commissioner AK Singh unfurled the ceremonial flag and took salute from parade contingents and Band from 56 Infantry Division at Aalo. Exhibition stalls showcased by various HoDs, demonstrations by fire fighters and vaccination of cattle and cultural presentations were highlights of the day
Tirap
Republic Day was celebrated in Tirap peacefully in all administrative Hqs.
At Khonsa DC P.N Thungon unfurled the tricolour amidst huge gathering and Veer Nari Chasan Dada, wife of Martyr Hangpan Dada, former ZPC Sontung Lowang, Senior Public leaders, students, parade contingents, GBs, Chiefs, Ex-Armies, HoDs and prominent public figures. 
While unfurling the tri-colour DC added that Tirap is also making rapid progress and trying its best to catch up with some of the more developed districts of Arunachal Pradesh despite having a backdrop of the insurgency. He urged the people of the district to avail health insurance scheme under CMAAY, DULARI KANYA scheme, Pension Scheme for Unrecognised Workers, CMSKY etc. 
He gave elaborate details of the road connectivity and other infra projects in the district. DC and SP Kardak Riba given away prizes to the winners of different categories.
Papum Pare
71st Republic day
Celebrated in a befitting manner at Yupia. Chief guest Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu unfurled the tricolour amid presence of officers, staffs, school children, ITBP, police personnel and general public.
Besides
Giving details of the developmental activities, he appealed the people to cooperate the District Administration in successful conduct of upcoming Census 2021 which will be conduct into two phases-House listing and House Count and Population Enumeration. Attractions of the day were colourful cultural display by various cultural troupes and school children,  WUSU art by students of Sangey Lhaden Sports Academy and prize distribution. 
Republic
Day was celebrated at EAC headquarter Mengio. Tana Bapu EAC Mengio unfurled the national flag. Cultural programme, games and sports and prize distribution were part of the day.
Upper Siang District
With the rest of the State and country, people of Upper Siang district celebrated the 71st  Republic Day with great enthusiasm. 
At District HQ Yingkiong the day was celebrated at General Ground and Deputy Commissioner Taper Pada hoisted the national flag followed by National Anthem and march past. Deputy Commissioner briefed the activities undertaken and implemented by the respective departments in the district. Other highlights of the day-long programme included inauguration of exhibition stalls, Mallakham exhibition by students of VKV, Yingkiong and other cultural programmes by students of several schools of Yingkiong HQ followed by a Football Tournament.
