AALO, May 20: The Civil Supply department of West Siang district has so far distributed 1 kg of pulses each to 5252 BPL & AAY families, 5 kg rice each to 32,933 PHH/AAY individuals under PMGKAY, free LPG to 452 BPL families under PMUY and financial support of Rs. 1000 to 6000 BPL families during the ongoing lockdown.
West Siang DF & CSO Rebom Nyuso Lendo disclosed that the pace of distribution didn’t pick up in the initial stage as the department was overburdened with ration and LPG needs of the entire district. The department was entrusted to distribute rations, LPG and other essential commodities from the FPS for Shi-Yomi district, administrative outposts, villages, sectors and colonies of the township here, he informed, assuring that central and state incentives and will reach all targeted BPL groups soon.
According to the department, consumers haven’t faced any shortage of ration and LPG during the entire lockdown period due to the effective and innovative distribution system. DIPRO
