PASIGHAT, Nov 5: A team of officers from East Siang District Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs Department conducted a surprise inspection here at the Main Market and booked 5 traders for violation of provisions of Legal Metrology Act and Packaged Commodities Rules. 
The inspection team was led by Assistant Controller D. Lingi along with other officials and four traders were booked for selling packaged commodities without mandatory information while one trader was booked for packing and selling commodities without Packer Registration as required under Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011. The team also conducted surprise inspection and checked accuracy in delivery at the township’s petrol pumps.
