ITANAGAR, Jun 20:NCC official Group Commander (Tezpur) Col RB Patil while attending weapon display function being organised  as a part of the first ever Annual Training Camp (ATC) underway at Dera Natung College said that NCC plays a vital role in instilling discipline, camaraderie and national spirit in young minds of school and college going students.

Underscoring its importance, he said NCC gives opportunities where youngsters can develop a good personality and a platform where through participation in various activities they can learn all socializing skills.

More than 450 cadets from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam are participating in the camp to learn, train and share their experiences and skills.  This is the first time that NCC Camp is being held at DN College Itanagar.

Commanding Officer Lt Col NK Bishnoi, SM informed that another battalion of NCC is being established at Tawang and another unit will be very soon established at Pasighat. 

Series of activities have been planned for the duration of the camp which includes swachh bharat awareness, weapon training, firing, drill practice, tent pitching, lectures on health hygiene and other social issues to instill awareness, bonhomie and leadership qualities among the cadets.
