YUPIA, Jan.8: In view of proposed 36 hours bandh call on January 9, by the Pare Project land affected committee (PPLAWC), the Deputy Commissioner Papumpare Pige Ligu convened a meeting with PPLAWC members and authorities from Pare HEP, NEEPCO at his office chamber today at Yupia.
After thorough discussion with both the parties, Deputy Commissioner requested PPLAWC members present to call off their proposed bandh. Terming the demands as genuine, he however advised them to wait for outcome of meeting between PPLAWC and NEEPCO authorities on January 10 at Guwahati and assured members that based on its outcome matter will be taken up with the higher authorities for an amicable solution.
The PPLAWC also agreed to the suggestion of the Deputy Commissioner to call off the bandh.Dilip K Bhaishya, HoP and Rekhi Tana Tara, Sr. Manager, Pare HEP, NEEPCO also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Dr. Bengia Tada, General Secretary (PPLAWC) informed the house about the demands of PPLAWC and purpose of calling the bandh. DIPRO
