YUPIA, Mar 24: In an effort to encourage the importance of fitness and sports activities among school-goers, the 31st Battalion, Indo Tibetan Border Police distributed free sports bicycles to the students of Government Schools of Yupia , Tigdo, Nyorch, Borum and Sood Village.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Yupia, Tai Kaye who attended the distribution ceremony as chief guest applauded the ITBP for organizing the event and urged the students to utilize the sports bicycles for a good cause.

Recalling the various rescue operations being performed by the ITBP personnel, in promoting the Swachh Bharat Mission and maintaining law and order in the state, Kaye lauded the ITBP force for carrying out their Civic Action Programs (CAP) in a grand manner despite their rigorous duties at the border.

Addressing the gathering, Commandant 31st Battalion ITBP, PN Prasad laid emphasis on the value of sports and physical activities in day to day life. He encouraged the young students to adopt sports as regular activity for a healthy and happy lifestyle.

Second In-command, Avinash Singh, Deputy Commandant, H Singh along with principals, headmasters of various schools also spoke on the occasion.
