ITANAGAR, Sep 30: The Mobile Inspection Team (MIT) of the Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs conducted surprise inspections at various trading units in capital’s Bank Tinali and Zero Point areas and booked 27 traders for violation of various provisions of the Legal Metrology Act/Rules.
16 traders have been booked for selling packaged items without mandatory information like MRP, manipulation of MRP, etc while 11 were booked for using unverified and non-standard weights and measures in their day to day commercial transactions. They also inspected a petrol pump at capital.
The team comprised of Deputy Controller (HQ) Daro Marbom, Jurisdictional Assistant Controller Amrit Taba, ILM Itanagar G. Singpho, Inspector Naharlagun Debia Tana and other officials.
