ITANAGAR, Sep 25: Environment & Forest Minister, Mama Natung felicitated 25 Range Forest Officers (RFOs), during a felicitation programme organized by the Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change at the PCCF office here on Monday.
The officers recently completed their observation and training in Karnataka, and are back in the state. They will be working for the department on an attachment basis for 6 months.
Speaking to the reporters, Mama Natung said that the 25 RFOs were recruited earlier and have successfully completed their training recently in Karnataka. He added the felicitation will motivate the new recruits to develop greater responsibility within themselves in the protection of the flora & fauna of the state.
The minister said that the recruits are young, and the department is hopeful that they implement the state policy at the ground level for the welfare of the public as well as the state.
“We believe the idea of sustainable development is being properly implemented by the officers. Moreover, it’s important that they execute what they were trained for during the training process,” he said, adding that the officers will be serving in attachment roles for the department for 6 months.
After the completion of 6 months, the entire 25 officers will be given full responsibility as an RFO.
The 25 RFOs are of 2022-23 batches, recruited under the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), and were undergoing training at the Karnataka Forest Academy.
The Karnataka Forest Academy is one of the premier academies for RFO training in the country. The 13 female and 12 male RFOs are from different districts of the state.
