ITANAGAR, Nov 5: Frustrated at concerned authority’s alleged failure to fulfill its demands, the United Students’ Organization of Mechukha Sub-Division has declared 24 hour ‘Chakka Bandh’ at Mechukha Township on November 6 as first phase of its agitation. The students’ organization has been demanding for immediate up-gradation of BSNL services alongwith 3G services at Mechukha. The mobile cellular services in Mechukha are always erratic due to non up-gradation of existing BSNL tower and non availability of private networks. The Organization strongly urged upon the authority to immediately replace or upgrade the existing BSNL with 3G services.
Claiming that Community Health Centre (CHC), Mechukha is running without a dental surgeon, the Organization demanded for immediate posting of one and making the X-Ray machine functional. It also sought immediate maintenance of Mechukha Township football ground which is in dilapidated condition
Taking serious note of the reported absenteeism of HoDs of various departments, the Organization strongly demanded the concerned authority to take stern action against irregular government officials.
In an intimation letter addressed to the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mechukha, the Organization stated that the ‘Chakka Bandh’ will be in effect from 5 am of November 6 and 5 am of November 7 next.
