YINGKIONG, Oct 18: A total of 19 houses were completely gutted down in a devastating fire at Millang Village, Mariyang, Upper Siang on Friday.
Yingkiong SP, Neelam Nega said that the fire broke out from the house of one, Along Libang, who was drying millet over the fireplace and soon spread to adjacent structures.
'The fire tender also could not get to the village as the entrance road leading to the village is too narrow and in very bad shape, ' SP said.
The nearest fire tender is located in Yingkiong, which is more than 50 km away from Millang/Mariyang. However, no casualties were reported from the incident, he informed.
