ITANAGAR, Jan 21: Capital District Administration along with police today while carrying out a checking drive to nab illegal immigrants caught a total of 170 persons from the Capital Region who were found to be  absolutely without ILPs or possessing forged ones.
The drive was carried out by the Executive Magistrate along with police personnel at several locations.  63 persons from Itanagar, 86 from Naharlagun and 21 from Banderdewa were caught without valid ILPs and were later produced before the Executive Magistrate at the Mobile Court and all 170 violators were deported out of state through the ILP check gate at Banderdewa. Deputy Commissioner Komkar Dulom while stressing that District Administration has zero tolerance against such violators, appealed all genuine non-APSTs to cooperate with the administration in carrying out such drives successfully. From security point of view it is good for everyone and genuine citizens need not worry as the drive is basically against illegal migrants without documents or those in possession of forged documents, DC assured. Many fake ILP passes were detected during the drive and action would soon be taken against such illegal syndicates issuing fake ILPs and people should not approach such illegal operators for passes, he added, also informing that such drives would continue from time to time.
DA has requested all genuine non-APSTs to always keep xerox  or scanned copies of ILPs with them to avoid embarrassment during checks while moving around in the city. It is hoped that such regular checking with cooperation from denizens will contain criminal activities in the Capital Region, adding that administration  is committed to function with a humane touch under Hamara Arunachal Abhiyan.
