ITANAGAR, Jan 23: A 15-member team comprising of villagers from various districts of Arunachal Pradesh and officials of Department of Hydro Power Development (DHPD), Govt of Arunachal Pradesh embarked on an exposure visit to NHPC Ltd-Teesta-V Power Station, Sikkim from January 18-20 last
Team headed by Durik Kamduk, SE, DHPD, Priya Ranjan, Dy General Manager (HR), RO-Itanagar comprised of Yangkeng Takuk from Upper Siang district, Abuyu Saya, Dingu Linggi, Kutundu Linggi, Junti Lingi from Lower Dibang Valley district and others who have been playing vital role in upcoming of Dibang Hydro Electric Project.
During the visit, the team visited key components of the power station such as Power House, Dam, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Project Hospital and also met with various beneficiaries of the power station. The team interacted with local people at Balutar, Singbel, Apdara, Dikchu. They also interacted with local people appointed by NHPC through R& R scheme at Teesta-V and local contract staff engaged at the Power Station.
Sahadev Khatua, Head of the Power Station apprised the visiting team about activities and achievements of Teesta-V Power Station. He explained how disasters and climate risks are being addressed through technical support, collaboration and using modern best practices. ES Newsdesk
