NAHARLAGUN, Nov 4: The Mobile Inspection Team (MIT) of Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs today conducted a surprise inspection visit here at Barapani Market and booked 11 traders for violation of various provisions of Legal Metrology Act and Packaged Commodities Rules. 
Three traders have been booked for using unverified weights and measures in their commercial transactions while eight traders were booked for selling packaged commodities without mandatory information and for manipulation of MRP.  The team also briefed them about legal provisions on use of weighing and measuring instruments and importance of mandatory declaration on packaged commodities.
