ITANAGAR, Nov 27: A team led by CO Itanagar Likha Radh and Senior Vety Officer(IMC) Dr. G Piel carried out stray animal drive to eliminate stray animals that are left in the open by the owners which causes obstruction, nuisance, traffic problems and unhygienic atmosphere at public places, roads etc.
The Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex Prince Dhawan informed that despite repeated notices and warnings, the owners are not taking adequate measures to keep these animals off public places and roads.
He has also requested the residents of Capital Complex to cooperate with the Administration and not to let loose their animals and to keep them confined. The DC has further informed that the DA will continue with the drive while also observing Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
During the drive, which was conducted at in pockets of the state capital, around 12 animals were evicted.
Combining all the drives, the DA has evicted a total of 105 animals till date.
