ITANAGAR, Sep 16: A surprise inspection of trading units along the stretches from Lekhi village to Nirjuli by the Mobile Inspection Team (MIT) of Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs led to the booking of 10 traders for violation of various provisions of Legal Metrology Act/Rules.
8 traders doing business in motor parts, tiles, hardware etc. have been booked for selling packaged items without mandatory information like MRP, date of manufacturing, etc while 2 were booked for using unverified and non-standard weights and measures in their day-to-day commercial transactions.
The team comprised of Deputy Controller (HQ) Daro Marbom, Jurisdictional Assistant Controller Amrit Taba, Inspectors of Papum Pare & HQ and other officials.
