Banderdewa, Aug 27: A Combined Annual Training Camp conducted by 1 Arunachal Pradesh Bn NCC commenced today here at the Police Training Centre with 500 Boy & Girl Cadets from various schools & colleges of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam taking participation.
The 10-day camp which will continue till September 5 aims to introduce the cadets to a disciplined military life and inculcate the basic qualities of leadership, camaraderie and national integration for becoming responsible citizens of the country. During training they will follow a strict routine such as waking up early in the morning followed by physical activities like PT, Drill, Yoga, Aerobics & Zumba. Training on weapon handling, firing, map reading, field craft & battle craft, leadership, social awareness, social service, community development and personality development will also be imparted and cadets will be encouraged to participate in various sports and cultural competitions that will be organized during the camp. Five teachers from schools/colleges accompanying the cadets as ANO/CTO (Associate NCC Officer/ Care Taker Officer) along with 20 army personnel will also participate in the camp under the supervision of CO 1 Arunachal Pradesh BN NCC, Col RK Sharma.
Various community development activities like Swachh Bharat Abhyan, Blood Donation Camp, etc along with central lectures and demonstrations on First Aid in case of emergencies by State Health Department, Fire Fighting Demo by Fire Fighting Services, Itanagar, Weapon Display by 31 ITBP, Road Safety and Traffic Rules by Capital Traffic Police, Self-Defense Training by Arunachal Pradesh Police and NDRF demo by 12th BN NDRF, Doimukh will be the major highlights.
Principal and training staff of Police Training Centre have extended full cooperation in the conduct of the camp.
Meanwhile, NCC cadets of Senior Secondary School, Khonsa today visited the weapons display of CRPF at the Headquarters of 36 Bn in Khonsa and witnessed a demonstration of firing of small arms. DIGP(Operations) CRPF, Dibrugarh, V. S. Sharma, Commandant 36 Bn, CRPF S.R. Behura, SP, Tirap K. Riba & ADC Khonsa J. Pertin were present on the occasion.
The visit was a part of ‘know your security force’ initiative of CRPF and created a lot of enthusiasm among the NCC cadets & teachers. SP Tirap & ADC appreciated CRPF for conducting such interaction programme for civilians.
