Murder of a police officer in a financial dispute may have been solved with the arrest of the three accused but what needs to be probed further are : How much was it ? Was it legitimate money? Was George alone in money lending business or was he a part of a syndicate? 
Sources within security establishment tell that late Sibu George “might” have been fronting for several other brothers-in-uniform in this money lending business. Generally speaking , police officials in key postings are raking in money and have amassed wealth beyond their pay grades informed a security source on condition of anonymity. 
This bit of information can’t be refuted by anyone , of any level. 
In Arunachal Pradesh, the engineering community is tagged as corrupt but ask the engineering officials whoever had police case against them, to know the degree of corruption within the police establishment. 
Modernisation and police reforms has been much talked about but is it for real? Police modernization and reforms can’t be limited to new buildings, latest weapons and gadgets. There should be new methods in training, better approach to man management skills and effective policy to punish and reward officials. 
It took more than half a decade for the police authority to investigate and charge  its own in drug trafficking cases since this daily first reported the “drug trafficking modus operandi”  involving police personnel in 2013-14. Higher authorities should act swiftly on Human Resource management aspect.  Shocking and sad is the gruesome murder of George hence the incident deserves a befitting clean-up action  within the police establishment before more skeletons tumble out of the cupboard and bring bad name for the police force.
