Eastern Sentinel Arunachal News

So in the wake of nearly 15 women, all of whom belonging to media and worked once in their life time with the “great journalist icon” (who now turned out to be a predator of young, hapless women who idolized him), has decided to take on them, not to brazen it out. Well, being now a minister he has the wherewithal to appoint the biggest names of crime fighters in India to fight these young upstarts (sorry it was then,  now they are very old whom he would not like to look at as their charm is gone). After all it is “political allegations,” if we believe the junior minister under our revered External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj who herself is a champion of women in India. If anybody believed, that he will confess and leave the job quietly, we are mistaken. He is a cut and dried journalist and now a minister to boot who will not let go a chance to fight. After all, a journalist is supposed to fight for causes he holds dearer to his heart.
The ladies who made accusations have a greater task; after all it is their word against him and when the man is so powerful, intelligent and don’t give a hoot.
More often, our attempts to discover the truth about sexual assault by examining the words of the accused will be much more complicated than simply peeling off one journal entry to reveal another. It is much more difficult than searching for a hashtag to look up a confession. But confessions of sexual assault are rare. We usually need to do a bit of digging and reading between the lines to reveal the truth about sexual assault.
Now that the accusers are told to come clean in the court where the famous advocate will cross examine them in choicest words and innuendoes making them squirm, the fight is going to be one that the country is going to eagerly watch.
