ITANAGAR, Dec 19: Borum Gram Panchayat has been selected under the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Yojana to be developed as a model village.

A decision was taken during the district committee meeting held today under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex, Prince Dhawan with the HoDs of various departments to select a village under the CMAGY which is a flagship programme of the state government.

 

The objective of the scheme is to develop 60 model villages per Legislative Assembly Constituency which are equipped with all the basic amenities such as 24x7 piped drinking water, electricity at household level, primary school, primary health infrastructure internal roads, avenue for employment generation and free from open defecation.

 

The DC stressed that every department should work in coordination so that all the formalities could be completed in the given timeframe. Dhawan further directed all the concerned departments to prepare and submit the shelf of works before the next review meeting onFebruary 2, next year and hoped that the ASM concerned and GP Chairperson will actively assist the concerned agencies for this task.

 

During the meeting, EAC Itanagar, Toko Babu briefed about the salient features of the programme.

 

The DRDA has been made the nodal implementing agency for the programme and the PD DRDA M Loyi was asked to do the baseline survey and to coordinate with the Borum Gram Panchayat to do the survey of the existing and the proposed assets of the village through geo technology.

The DC also directed the PD to convene a meeting with the concerned Gram Sabha involving all the concerned departments.
