TEZU, Jun 15: The Tezu police has arrested two persons and seized suspected contraband Brown Sugar weighing 26 grams from their possession. The persons have been identified as Sonam Tamang, 26, and pillion rider Sonu Sahani, 20.

Police team under close supervision of  DySP JK Lego, on receiving information on Wednesday that two persons are bringing in contraband drugs in a motorcycle to Tezu from Namsai swung into action.

The team conducted surprise checking at Tebang Bridge point near 32 Mile Danglat and intercepted the duo. On body search, 6 (six) nos. of small plastic pouches containing pink colour powdery substances suspected to contraband Brown Sugar weighting 26 grams approx has been recovered from their possession and seized in presence of JMFC Tezu.

In this regard, a case vide Tezu PS Case No.38/17 U/S 21(b) NDPS Act is registered and investigation is underway.
