TEZU, Nov 8: In order to review the performance of the National Health Mission in eight eastern districts of the state, the 1^st zonal review meeting was organized by the State Health Society, NHM which was chaired by Special Secretary-cum-Mission Director (NHM), Dr. Tapasya Raghav at Tezu.

The meeting reviewed 2^nd quarter performance of Lohit, Tirap, Changlang, Anjaw, Namsai, Dibang Valley, Lower Dibang Valley and Longding.

Referring to low performance of 1^st round Intensified Mission Indradhanush, Raghav directed the districts to cover 100% children under 2^nd round of IMI with a better House to House visit plan and surveys.

Stating that health indicators in all the districts should improve from the levels of NFHS 4 data, she emphasized on functionalization of Sub Centres terming them the ‘first contact point’ of the people with the health system for health services.

Instructing for rational deployment of Human Resource to overcome the work load, she said ASHAs should be given their due incentives to encourage them to work efficiently. She also called for sensitizing and involving PRIs and religious leaders to increase the acceptance level of immunization services. She also opined that Aadhaar seeding should be completed so that all benefit to the beneficiaries are paid through Direct Benefit Transfer.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki Tezu opined that it is a good initiative which can better facilitate the districts in improving the health indicators and also the participating districts can have first-hand experience of the activities in the host district.

Power Point Presentations were made by the participating districts to review the performance of their 2^nd quarter activities. The participants on the second day had a field visit to the health facilities.

A brief presentation on feedback of IMI second round and short orientation on incoming Measles – Rubella vaccination campaign was presented.  State Epidemiologist, Dr. L Jampa presented an overview of IDSP and NCD of the participating districts.

The meeting was attended by all district level health officials.
