PASIGHAT, Nov 11:   

 

Acting tough against drug peddlers and addicts, the Pasighat Police led by DySP, Torum Makcha carried out several raids and arrests on the intervening night of Friday-Saturday and recovered contraband substances as well.

 

Based on a tip-off, the house of one Nayi Riba was raided and based on his information a string of arrests were made.

 

‘Based on information from Riba, the house of Katan Mongku was raided where Ganja and khani-making tools were recovered. Also one small weighing machine was recovered from his house. On Mongku’s revelation, one Ojong Osik and Lenzing Saring’s houses were also raided from where opium, ganja and brown sugar were recovered,’ the DySP said.

 

All of them have been arrested and operation is on to crack the drug abuses in the town, informed Makcha.

 

Pasighat police has appealed for proper cooperation from civil societies including CBOs to crack such illegal business which is ruining the lives of many youths.
