 ITANAGAR, Jul 16: Students Union of NERIST (SUN) and NERIST Research Scholars Association (NRSA) called of its proposed move to boycott the admission process of the new academic session after assurance from the university authorities.

In a press statement, SUN claimed that an emergency meeting was called on Saturday where Director In-charge –NERIST, Tamo Mibang along with Registrar NERIST, RP Bhattacharjee and students members attended.During the meeting, beside assurance  on its various demands, one month (April) fellowship of PhD scholars and two months (April and May -2017) scholarship of GATE MTech students has been released pronto.  Further, it was assured to the students that the newly appointed Chairman, Board of Management (BOM) UC Roy will be visiting the institute to meet the students on their grievances and Deputy Registrar (Finance) has been assigned to pursue the other issues with Ministry of Human Resource Development, the release stated.
