ITANAGAR, Nov 14:

 

Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee celebrated the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, first Prime Minister of India today at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan in the state capital.

 

           

 

Vice-President APCC, Minkir Lollen, General Secretary, All India Mahila Congress Committee, Jarjum Ete, Ex-Minister & Vice-President APCC, Bosiram Siram, in their speeches recalled the contribution of Pt. Nehru, who played a historic role in the attainment of India’s freedom.

 

They termed him as a revered leader, a global statesman and a profound humanist, who was a stalwart of India’s freedom struggle. Panditji’s love and affection for children was universal and for them he was their “Chacha Nehru”.

 

The speakers further appealed the party men and women to take a pledge to tirelessly work towards his values and ideals and also to take a pledge to uphold Nehru’s commitment of inclusive democracy, empowering people, and preserving the unity and integrity of India.
