ITANAGAR, Nov 2:The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has urged the Deputy Commissioners of Changlang, Namsai, Lohit and Papum Pare districts where Chakma and Hajong are residing to refrain from enrolling any illegal migrants in the electoral rolls as their citizenship issue is still sub judice.

Chakmas and Hajongs are not citizens of the country but foreigners who have illegally entered the State without the consent of the indigenous people. To be enrolled as valid voter one needs to be first the citizen of the country, the Union said.

Asserting that Chakmas and Hajongs have been committing numerous crimes against the indigenous people, AAPSU General Secretary, Tobom Dai informed that there are more than 306 criminal cases registered against them up to 2011.
